• Travel Insurance recommended. Download Form
We highly recommend getting travel insurance.
You can choose your own travel insurance or use our
travel insurance partner by downloading the form from our site.
We recommend that you bring: two camera bodies, one wide zoom lens, one telephoto zoom lens, one strobe, several zip lock bags, a chamois, a small camera bag or belt pouches, a laptop computer, a wide-brimmed hat, rubber or canvas shoes for water shoots, shorts and light khaki or denim trousers, light T-shirts. Bring plenty of sun block and insect repellent. Laundry services are available during the workshop.
You may want to pack everything into a pair of hand-carried luggage to ease travel and flight connections. Please remember to always keep your photo equipment in your possession.
Please refer to the air carriers and flight schedules for Manila-Dumaguete-Manila listed at the top of this page. If you are coming from the Americas, you will be crossing the International Date Line. This means you will be losing a day on your journey to the Philippines, and will gain that day back upon your return home.
If your incoming flight arrives in Manila after 3:00 p.m., you will need to spend the night in Manila and catch a flight to Dumaguete the next day. We suggest that you change money at one of the airport currency exchanges upon your arrival in Manila.
Please plan your trip accordingly. You are responsible for getting to the workshop on time.
All participants are required to stay at Smeets Residence Hall on the campus of Foundation University. Rooms are comfortable and secure. Meals will feature Filipino cuisine (noodles, seafood, fresh vegetables and fruit) prepared by culinary students at the university.
Workshop participants should expect long days of hands-on instruction. Location shoots begin at dawn and you will likely be doing lab work well into the evenings. It will be challenging, but it will be fun. We hope to see you there.
