London Rock: The Unseen Archive - Vintage Collection by Alec Byrne
ABOUT THE EXHIBIT
Two years after his acclaimed show Live at the Marquee, featuring photos of the legendary 1971 club show by the Rolling Stones, Alec Byrne returns to The Perfect Exposure Gallery to celebrate the release of his first book, London Rock: The Unseen Archive.
The exhibition will include over 30 vintage prints created by Alec in the late 60s and early 70s. All the major artists of swinging London will be featured including the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Who, Jimi Hendrix, David Bowie, Bob Marley and many more.
Alec will be on hand to tell stories, answer questions and, of course, sign copies of the new book.
ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER
ALEC BYRNE covered the rock and roll scene in London from the mid-1960s through the mid-1970s the height of Londons rock revolution. After sitting in storage for close to four decades, his archive was reintroduced to the world in late 2012 with an acclaimed one-night show in Los Angeles attended by more than one thousand people. Since then, Byrne's work has been featured during the 2013 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, exhibited at the South by Southwest music festival, and accepted into the National Portrait Gallery in London.

The Perfect Exposure Gallery is the recognized venue in Southern California to display the work of award winning and accomplished photojournalists as well as works of photographers that regard artistry and craftsmanship as a standard of excellence. The mission of the Perfect Exposure Gallery is to present exhibits free of charge to the general public with the following goals to exemplify the rich variety and impact of photography, freedom of expression, a forum for the aesthetic, the contemptible and the sublime.
