ABOUT THE EXHIBIT
Underneath Los Angeles - 1988-1990
These rich, black and while images by The Perfect Exposure reveal the complex infrastructure of the Los Angeles underground system. Given unlimited access, Arorizo beautifully captured the scope and the detail of subway construction. The pride of the men who who worked below Los Angeles to make public transit a reality is clear on their faces. Though currently closed due to COVID-19, the L.A. subway will soon be back to transport hundreds of thousands of commuters to their destinations for only a $1.75 one way.
