To honor the 100th anniversary of the birth of President John F. Kennedy.
The Perfect Exposure Gallery will be hosting a Memorial Day Exhibition with photos from the late news photographer Arnie Sachs to commemorate his centennial year.
ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER
During his distinguished career in photojournalism Arnie Sachs covered eleven presidents, from Harry S. Truman to George W. Bush, and thirteen inaugurals. Sachs was awarded the WHNPA Lifetime Achievement Award for Still Photography in 2001 He was a member of the WHNPA for 56 years Among his awards are numerous first prizes in the WHNPA Eyes of History, the American Newspaper Guild Front Page Awards, and the Hearst National Photo Contest. He started as a messenger boy for a Hearst newspaper in New York in 1945, and within five years, he was a Washington-based photographer for Hearst's International News Photos Wire Service. He also worked for the old Washington Star and, starting in the early 1960s, spent more than twenty years with Agence France-Presse. Arnie was a "AFP" Washington Bureau Chief in the 1960s and was the Director of AFP’s US Operations in the 1970s and early 1980s. For much of his life, Arnie and his wife Lorraine also co-owned and operated the photographic news agency Consolidated News Photos and the Congressional Photo Shoppe in Southeast Washington, a block from Capitol Hill

The Perfect Exposure Gallery is the recognized venue in Southern California to display the work of award winning and accomplished photojournalists as well as works of photographers that regard artistry and craftsmanship as a standard of excellence. The mission of the Perfect Exposure Gallery is to present exhibits free of charge to the general public with the following goals to exemplify the rich variety and impact of photography, freedom of expression, a forum for the aesthetic, the contemptible and the sublime.
